Whilst every effort is
made to ensure that these half term holiday dates
are accurate, there are occasions when circumstances
beyond our control may result in changes.
Is your child unable to go to school because he or she is unwell? Is your child
likely to be away from school for more than 15 working days? If you have
answered yes to these questions, it is important to make sure your child does
not miss out on their education.
To meet the requirements of Section 19 of the Education Act 1996, the statutory
guidance ‘Access to Education for Children and Young People with Medical Needs’
2001 and ‘Guidance on the Education of School Age Parents’ 2001, the County
Council has a duty to provide education otherwise than at school where it is
necessary to do so to meet pupils’ needs.
