Term School Holiday Dates For South Australia State. Term Dates for Australian Schools. 2010, 2011 and 2012
The Australian Government is committed to an education
system that pursues excellence for all Australian schools and where every child
receives the highest quality education. This commitment has been backed through
both a national agenda for school reform and unprecedented investment.
Major
reform priorities set by the government include raising the quality of teaching
in our schools, ensuring all students are benefitting from schooling, especially
in disadvantaged communities, improving literacy and numeracy outcomes, and
improving the transparency and accountability of schools and school systems at
all levels.
South Australia is the southern, central state on the mainland of the continent
of Australia. It has an area of 984,377 square kilometres (12.8% of the total
Australian land mass), and is the driest of the Australian States and
Territories. Water supplies are supplemented with water piped from the River
Murray, the only major river in the State.
When South Australia was colonised in 1836 it was home to more than 50 different
Aboriginal language speaking groups. The Department of Education and Children’s
Services acknowledges and respects the traditional custodians of South
Australian lands and their deep feelings of attachment and relationship to
country.
